A Promising Future for the IAMWMW
Last June, the International Association of Ministers Wives and Ministers’ Widows met for their 76th annual convention in Richmond, VA. It was an exciting week with new additions and challenging messages. First Lady Jacqueline Thornton of Sweet Hope Free Will Baptist Church and chairperson of the Executive Board of the Greater Baltimore Ministers Wives and Ministers Widows is generous and shares her photos from the conference. Lady Thornton reflected that it was a beautiful conference. The three past presidents and President Beverly Glover delivered inspirational messages. President Glover (photo top of page) told the delegates that, "Duties belong to us ... Results belong to God" Amen.
The delegates received a real charge listening to the message from President Emeritus Dr. Shirley Alexander Hart titled “A Promising Future, If.” Lady Thornton said the impact of the message was that it was at once compelling and inspirational. Another unique feature of this 76th convention was the first ever all male clergy choir. Pastor Jesse Young served as the musician and director for the choir and they were awesome. First Lady Gwendolyn Young is the wife of Pastor Young. Lady Young represented the Agape Fellowship of which she serves as president.
After a great meeting in Richmond, members of the IAMWMW are looking forward to 2017, when the 77th convention will convene in Nassau Bahamas. A fabulous week is anticipated because everyone knows, It’s better in the Bahamas!
